Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre to debut Astronaut’s suit at DIGAE

DUBAI, 8th April, 2018 (WAM) -- Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, MBRSC, a Dubai Government entity which aims to promote scientific innovation and technology advancement in Dubai and the UAE, will be participating in the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition, DIGAE, 2018 being held at Dubai World Trade Center between April 9th and 11th.
MBRSC will unveil an Astronaut suit for the very first time along with a mock module of Mars city and Astronaut’s food which will be available for visitors to try.
Since its inception in 2011, the DIGAE has established itself as the benchmark for public sector excellence showcase where all local authorities, institutions, departments and agencies showcase their most effective programmes and innovative solutions.
Commenting on MBRSC’s participation, Yousef Al Shaibani, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre said, "MBRSC has made significant leaps in the field of space exploration and innovation through projects such as UAE Astronaut Programme, Mars 2117, Hope Probe, Khalifa Sat and more. We are proud to have been invited to participate in the 6th edition of DIGAE as this gives us an excellent platform to showcase our one of a kind projects amongst peers as well as receive their feedback on our planned and future missions."
A special seminar will also be hosted during the exhibition by Salem Al Marri, Assistant Director-General for Scientific and Technical Affairs at MBRSC, Head of higher committee of the UAE Astronaut Programme on April 9th who will shed light on the space centre’s ambitious journey from conducting unmanned space missions to its first ever manned space mission.
