Rafsanjani meets Iraqi Prime Minister

Baghdad, March 3, IRNA -

Chairman of Iran`s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani
discussed major bilateral issues with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri
al-Maliki.

Rafsanjani arrived in the Iraqi capital on Monday on his first visit
to Iraq since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

A number of Iraqi ministers were also present in Rafsanjani-Maliki
meeting which took place at the Green Zone central Baghdad.

Earlier on Monday, Rafsanjani met with the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

The two discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues.

While in Baghdad, Rafsanjani is to hold separate meetings with Sunni
Muslim religious leaders, heads of Iraqi tribes and political parties
as well as university professors.
