Jaafari Receives UAE Ambassador To Baghdad, Calling To Open New Horizons For Joint Cooperation

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari and UAE ambassador Hassan al-Shehhi stressed the importance of exchanging visits between officials of the two countries to open new horizons for joint cooperation. "Jaafari met with the UAE ambassador at the ministry's headquarters and reviewed the progress of relations between Baghdad and Abu Dhabi and means of enhancing them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples," a foreign ministry statement said. The meeting also stressed the importance of intensifying political consultations and exchanging visits between officials of the two countries to open new horizons for joint cooperation in various fields. The statement pointed out that "the meeting was attended by the head of the Arab Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the head of the Protocol Department."/ End
