ERC delivers immediate aid to newly-liberated Kirsh district, Yemen

LAHEJ, Yemen, 28th March, 2018 (WAM) -- A day following its liberation from the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, on Tuesday began distributing humanitarian aid to the people of the Kirsh district in the Lahej Governorate in Yemen. The aid reached Yemeni citizens in residential areas who were living under the siege imposed by the militias during their control of the region. The ERC was the first humanitarian organisation to reach Kirsh following its liberation. The beneficiaries expressed their thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for standing by them in liberating the area and providing them with food supplies, commending the UAE's support in the military, humanitarian, relief and development fields.
