Court sentences executing one, imprisoning 15 Pakistanis on drugs charge

SANA'A, March 02 (Saba)-The Primary Specialized Penal Court here
sentenced on Monday executing the first convicted of drugs
trafficking and 25 years imprisonment to the others in the same case.

The gang which is composed of 16 was convicted of bringing drugs to
Yemeni regional waters mid last April 2008.

The sentence, issued in today session and headed by Judge Mohsen
Alwan, stipulated on executing the first convicted Khowad Bakhs
Ladad, 45, Pakistani citizen and 25 years imprisonments to the rest
15 other Pakistanis included in the same case. The sentence also
stipulated on seizing and burning quantities of drugs they were in
their possession.

The court convicted the accused of bringing 10,000 kilograms of
drugs and putting them on a Pakistani boat called al-Makran in
Pakistani Port of Kawader and then heading to Yemeni regional
waters. They were arrested while taking possession of the drugs. 170
kilo grams of the quantities, Hashish type, were seized.
