Implementation of WB-funded projects in agricultural sector reviewed

SANA'A, Mar. 02 (Saba) - Yemen and World Bank (WB) reviewed here on
Monday the implementation progress of the WB-funded projects in the
agricultural sector.

Undersecretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation for
Agricultural Services Sector Mohammed al-Ghashm discussed with WB's
mission led by senior economist James Sake the future required needs
of the WB-funded projects in light of the assessment conducted by
officials in the agricultural sector and WB.

The meeting confirmed the role of WB in supporting the agricultural
development in Yemen and its contributions to creating an
infrastructure for this vital sector and strengthening the
agricultural guidance and service activity to realize the food
security in the country.

The two sides emphasized the significance of such meetings to
enhance the WB's role in supporting the agricultural sector
development in Yemen in addition to polarizing donors to boost up
this vital and important sector.
