YCGF rescue Korean ship of piracy
ADEN, March, 02 (Saba)- Yemeni Coast Guards Forces (YCGF) thwarted a
try of attacking Korean ship by Somali pirates in the international
waters in the Gulf of Aden.
An authorized source in YCGF told Saba that forces in the Gulf of
Aden received call for help from the Korean ship and then directed
one of its boats, exiting in Ras Amran area, for helping it.
The source indicated that the boat has arrived on time before
seizing the ship by the pirates who fired against the ship when
their boats approached the ship nearly 40 meters causing its some
damages.
The source pointed out that the boat's crew has engaged with pirates
as soon as they reach for helping the ship. The pirates threatened
to fire RPG rockets against the ship if it did not surrender.
He indicated that the forces injured one of the pirates while trying
to fire RPG rocket at the ship. As a result the pirates ran away
while the ship continued its voyage safely to its destiny.
