President lands in Jakarta
JAKARTA, Feb. 28 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived
Saturday in Indonesia on the final stopover of his overseas trip
kicked early last week.
On his visit, President Saleh will take part in the fifth World
Islamic Economic Forum on Food and Energy Security and Stemming the
Tide of Global Financial Crisis which would be held in capital
Jakarta on 2-3 March.
Arriving in the country, President Saleh said the republic of Yemen
look forwards to the promotion of pan-Muslim trade exchange.
He affirmed that the states must have a united voice toward all
issues and developments concerned by the Muslim nation.
On Monday, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh began an overseas
tour with the latest developments in the Middle East and African
Horn on the top of his agenda.
At the start of the trip Saleh paid a two-day visit to Syria.
He discussed with his Syrian counterpart and senior officials
crucial issues in the region topped by pan-Arab reconciliation.
Russia was the second leg of Saleh's tour where he discussed with
Russian officials means to promote bilateral cooperation
particularly in the military and economic areas.
He then left for Tajikistan to affirm Yemen's keenness to develop
its economic ties with the country.
