Iran, Syria hold 1st round of talks
Tehran, Feb 28, IRNA - Iran and Syria started the first round of their formal talks within the framework of the Supreme Council of Mutual Cooperation here.
The Iranian delegation is represented by First Vice President Parviz
Davoudi while the head of the visiting Syrian delegation is Prime
Minister Mohammad Naji Atri.
The Syrian delegation also includes a number of country?s cabinet members.
The session aims to follow up the decisions signed by the two
countries in Damascus last year.
Signing of new agreements and establishment of a joint bank is at the
agenda of the present meeting.
During his three-day stay in Iran, Atri will meet with President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, National
Security chief Saeed Jalili and a number of other ranking Iranian
officials.
He will discuss issues of mutual interests including international and
regional events with them and focus on mutual relations.
