Ahmadinejad: Iran?s policy based on growing ties with neighbors

Tehran, Feb 28, IRNA - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Friday that Iran?s absolute and principled policy is based on expansion of relations with the neighboring and Muslim states.

?The Islamic Republic of Iran sides with all the friendly and brother
countries of the region, believing that friendship and fraternity
should be promoted day by day. The Islamic Republic of Iran considers
Bahrain?s progress and dignity as its own,? President Ahmadinejad told
visiting Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmad al-Khalifa
here on Friday.

He said Iran has always been favoring expansion of solid relations
with Bahrain and will remain so in the future either.

?Enemies of the two nations are not willing to see our brothers in the
region, including Iran and Bahrain, have good friendly and
good-neighborly based relations,? added the president.

The Bahraini minister for his part said relations between Iran and
Bahrain are consolidated and in line with interests of the two nations.

He added that expansion of relations with Iran is of extreme
importance for the Bahraini government and nation.
