Oil Minister Visits Turkey To Discuss Resumption Oil Export Through Ceyhan Port

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Oil Minister Jabbar Ali al-Luaibi will visit Turkey this week at the invitation of Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak. The ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said in a press statement "The oil minister will head a high ministerial delegation to hold talks on developing bilateral relations and expand prospects for cooperation in the field of oil and energy, as well as discussing the file of the resumption of Iraqi oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan," Jihad added: "the minister will meet with a number of Turkish officials, to confirm the keenness of Iraq and the Ministry to build bridges of confidence and cooperation to reach an agreement that strengthens the strength of bilateral relations and resume the process of exporting Iraqi oil through State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO) exclusively," adding, the visit will also include inviting the Turkish companies to implement investment projects announced by the ministry and to contribute and participate in the development of the oil sector. The ministry spokesman said that "this visit comes as a complement to the talks that took place in Baghdad before the end of last year." / End
