Minister of Youth Calls On Arab And Asian Sports Institutions To Visit Baghdad

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - The Minister of Youth and Sports Abdul Hussein Abtan called on the Arab and Asian sports institutions to visit Iraq in support of lifting the ban on Iraqi soccer fields.
Abtan said during a meeting with the Qatari sports delegation in a statement to the ministry that "the Arab and Asian sports institutions are invited to visit Iraq and to learn more about the sports facilities and the size of the urban revolution in the sports field and support the file of lifting the ban on Iraqi football."
"Our country enjoys security and stability in various areas of life, especially in sports, and the capital Baghdad is alive," he said.
"The visit of the Qatari sports delegation to Baghdad is a proof of the stability and security in the capital, as well as the positive visit, it is a historic and important for the Iraqi football and file lifting the total ban."
"The Qatari side is a great supporter of Iraqi sport and football in particular and will activate the joint agreement between the two sides, which was concluded in Doha with the aim of translating it on the ground in many sports joints."
For his part, the head of the Qatari delegation, President of the Qatar Football Federation Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani said "he is very happy to be in Baghdad as his first visit to the accompanying delegation."
He stressed that "an exemplary program will be implemented in Iraq in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other sports institutions, as well as to confirm the participation of the Qatari team in the quartet next March on Karbala and Najaf international stadiums .
The Qatari sports delegation, led by Qatar Football Federation President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, arrived in the capital Baghdad on Thursday morning to visit the Iraqi capital to support lifting the ban on Iraqi football./ End
