Construction of Thuan Phuoc bridge proceeding on schedule

Da Nang (VNA) - The successful installation of the final span of the Thuan Phuoc
bridge was marked with a ceremony in central Da Nang city on Feb. 26.

Truong Tan Sang and To Huy Rua, Politburo members of the Party Central Committee
were among the attendees at the event.

The construction of the three-span, cable-stayed Thuan Phuoc bridge began in 2003.


The four-lane bridge, 1,255 m long and 18m wide, spans the Han river .

Thuan Phuoc bridge connects an important transport route, linking the Hai Van
tunnel, Da Nang port and the Son Tra-Dien Ngoc coastal road to the ancient city
of Hoi An.

The bridge is expected to open to traffic on the 34 th anniversary of the
liberation of Da Nang city, which falls on March 29.-Enditem
