UAE participates in Al Azhar's international conference in support of Jerusalem

CAIRO, 17th January, 2018 (WAM) -- An international conference was organised in Cairo on Wednesday by Egypt’s Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in collaboration with the Muslim Council of Elders, to back Jerusalem as the main capital of occupied Palestine. The conference, which was held in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and a number of scholars, intellectuals and writers, saw discussions on means to promote the Arabic identity of Jerusalem, following the United States President Donald Trump’s recent decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The UAE delegation to the conference included Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Emirates Red Crescent, Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, Dr. Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf, and Aza Sulaiman Al Jassem, Member of the Federal National Council.
