AYCC to launch cement plant in Hadramout

SANA'A, Feb. 23 (Saba) - The Arabian Yemen Cement Company AYCC has announced that 93% of the company's cement plant in the eastern province of Hadramout has been completed.

Preparations got underway to open the plant officially in the next few months, head
of the board of directors of the company, chairman of the Bugshan Group Abdullah
Bugshan said.

The $ 260 million factory that covers 22 square kilometers will produce Portland
cement and anti-salt and sulfate cement basedon world specifications.. with annual
production capacity of 1.5 ton.

Bugshan said that his group is currently implementing other investment projects in
Yemen including a Mukala residential and commercial complex at a cost of SR 120
million that covers 180.000 square metes in the Mukala city.

The Bugshan Group recently launched a brick tourist project in Hadramout at a cost
of $ 4 million that included 24 chalets, gardens and restaurants, commercial stores
and sports halls, he said.

He affirmed the group is currently considering the establishment of several
investment projects in many areas in the country, a move which come to show our
satisfaction with reforms Yemen has made to improve the business and investment
climate.
