PM Dung ready for ASEAN Summit in Thailand
Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is set to head a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 14th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place in Cha Am-Hua Hin, Thailand , from Feb. 28 - Mar. 1.
The summit will focus on the topic "An ASEAN Charter for ASEAN People," the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs announced on Feb. 23.
In addition to a number of formal meetings, PM Dung will join the leaders of the
other ASEAN member countries to attend dialogues and informal meetings with the
ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, as well as youth representatives and civil
social organisations.
PM Dung and Deputy PM-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem will also engage in a
number of bilateral activities on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, consists of Brunei ,
Cambodia , Indonesia , Laos , Malaysia , Myanmar , the Philippines ,
Singapore , Thailand and Vietnam.-Enditem
