Yemen, Iran discuss oil, gas cooperation

SANA'A, Feb. 22 (Saba)- Minister of Oil and Minerals Emir al-Aidrous discussed on Sunday with Iranian Minister of Energy Parvis Fattah cooperation between the two countries in fields of oil, gas and minerals and means of enhancing them.

In the meeting, Minister al-Aidrous affirmed Yemen's keenness on making use of Iranian
expertise in oil and gas fields, considering visits of Iranian Energy Minster to
Yemen a real step in enhancing mutual relations between the two sides.

He asserted necessity of activating treaties signed between the two countries and
discussing suitable mechanism for implementing them for achieving the two countries'
joint interests. He extends his invitation to Iranian counterpart, via Fattah, to
visit Yemen for exchanging expertise of the two countries.

For his part, the Iranian minister said his country "has valuable experiences in
fields of oil, petrochemicals, refineries and gas." He showed his country's
readiness to transform their experiences to Yemenis in this field.

He asserted that Iran seeks to enhance its relations with Yemen via exchanging
visits between the experts of the two countries and opening wider fields for trade
and economic partnership.
