Larijani calls Turkish counterpart
Tehran, Feb 22, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a telephone conversation with Turkish counterpart on Saturday said that Islamic countries should try to solve problems of Gaza residents.
According to the report of Majlis Media Department, Larijani in his
talk with Koksal Toptan, Turkey?s Grand National Assembly Speaker,
said that the issue of Palestine is very important for the Islamic
world.
Referring to the existing problems in Gaza Strip, Larijani stressed
that people of Gaza and Palestine are still suffering in their daily
lives.
He invited his counterpart to attend a conference here in Tehran on
Gaza which will be held in the level of Parliament speakers of Muslim
countries.
Majlis speaker also called mutual relations between Iran and Turkey in
all fields ? very good? and underlined necessity of expansion of ties
and bilateral cooperation.
Toptan, for his part, appreciated Iran?s diplomatic efforts to support
Palestinian cause and help solve problems of Gaza residents and
reminded the necessity of continuation of diplomatic efforts to remove
besiege and blockade of the residents.
He added that the Turkey?s Grand National Assembly will continue its
efforts in this concern and expressed hope that a senior delegation
from Turkey would attend Tehran?s conference on Palestine.
