Tehran, Malaysia to expand academic ties

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Feb 21, IRNA - The University of Tehran (UT) and the University of Malaya (UM) in Malaysia inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday.

Announcing this, visiting Chancellor of the University of Tehran
Farhad Rahbar stated that as per the MoU, the two sides are obliged to
expand academic ties in the fields of research projects and exchange
of students and professors.

Rahbar announced that UT is ready to conduct joint research in
different fields.

Rahbar also stressed UT?s activities, its prominent position in Iran,
and that much scientific research takes place at the university.

The University of Malaya is the oldest university in Malaysia.

Currently some 600 Iranian students are studying in Master and Ph.D.
degrees in different fields in UM.
