Yemen extradites suspect to kingdom
SANA'A, Feb. 21 (Saba) – Yemen has extradited a wanted terrorist
suspect to Saudi Arabia, a move which comes within the extradition
agreement between the two neighboring countries.
An official source at the Interior ministry said Yemen handed over
Muhammad Ateeq Uwaidh al-Aufi, an ex-Guantanamo Saudi detainee, and
a wanted suspect by Yemen to Saudi authorities.
Al-Aufi appeared in an online clip calling himself a field leader of
al-Qaeda.
Earlier he handed himself in to police while in Shabwa.
As authorities made sure that he was a wanted suspect by Yemen and
the kingdom, authorities contacted Saudi authorities to hand over
the suspect.
