President renewed request to U.S. of Yemenis in Guantanamo
SANA'A, Feb. 18 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh renewed on
Wednesday Yemen's request to the United States to hand over the
Yemeni detainees in Guantanamo camp as well as Mohammed al-Moayad
and his companion Mohammed Zaid.
During his meeting with the American ambassador to Sana'a Stephen
Seche, Saleh pointed out that Yemen would carry out a rehabilitation
program for the detainees, who return home to guarantee merging them
into the society as good citizens.
The President praised the current cooperation ties between Yemen and
USA, asserting on developing them for serving the common interests
of the two friendly countries.
The meeting dealt with several issues related to the joint
cooperation and bilateral ties between the two friendly countries,
particularly in security and fighting against terrorism.
