Vietnam to supply rice and coffee to UAE
Geneva (VNA) - Vietnam will become a source of rice and coffee for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) once their economic ties are strengthened, UAE officials were quoted as saying.
Hamad Buamin, Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said
that Dubai would play a larger role in being a trans-shipment port for the
distribution of commodities between Vietnam , Europe and Africa , according to
Gulfnews reports.
During Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's visit to the UAE, a number of agreements
on investment, trade and workforce cooperation were signed
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and UAE increased sharply last year, with
2008's figures double those of 2007. Total trade value leapt from 67 million USD
in 2002 to 550 million USD in 2008.-Enditem
