Serbia Renews Its Position In Support Iraq Unity And Sovereignty

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Serbia has renewed its support for the unity and sovereignty of Iraq and to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq's infrastructure. "Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari met with First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic to discuss relations between the two countries and efforts to promote joint cooperation in all fields," a foreign ministry statement said. The Serbian official said during the meeting: "We are happy for Iraq to achieve the recent victory over terrorism, and I extend my congratulations to the Iraqi people on the great victory over terrorism," reiterating his country's position to support the unity and sovereignty of Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities." "Many of the Iraqi students graduated from the Yugoslav universities," he said, added "Many Yugoslav companies were working in Iraq and this is evidence of the depth of relations between the two countries, and we seek to strengthen relations in the future in all areas.
