Parliamentary elections to be held on time: Saleh says

SANA'A, Feb. 18 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh affirmed on
Wednesday that the upcoming parliamentary elections will be held on
time.

During his meeting with Washington D.C.-based National Democratic
Institute Director for Africa and Middle East Affairs Mr. Leslie
Campbell, President Ali Abdullah Saleh asserted that the election
would not be delayed.

The meeting discussed the cooperation with the institute in the
democratic field and the underway arrangements for the upcoming
parliamentary elections.

He praised the Institute's efforts to enhance the Yemeni democracy
experience.

For his part, Mr. Campbell praised the current preparations for
carrying out the upcoming parliamentary elections on time,
confirming that these elections are a constitutional right for all
Yemen people.
