ERC to distribute medicines, medical solutions to kidney dialysis centres in Shabwa

SHABWA, 26th September, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, distributed medicines and medical solutions to patients at kidney dialysis centres in Mayfa'a, Ataq and Beihan districts in the Shabwa governorate today. The ERC initiative was part of the ongoing support campaign undertaken by the UAE, in line with the directives of the wise leadership to enhance the health services provided to the Yemeni people and provide the necessary equipment to hospitals and medical centres in Yemen. Mohammed Saif Al Muhairi, head of the ERC team in Shabwa, emphasised that the support was aimed at reducing the burden of the patients suffering from kidney failure and equip the kidney dialysis centres with the necessary equipment needed for treatment. He said that the ERC was intensifying its humanitarian work in the Shabwa governorate by providing food and medical aid to the needy families in the governorate, as part of the working plan of the ERC in the governorate. Abdrabo Nasser, Secretary-General of the local council of Shabwa, praised the generous and exceptional support provided by the UAE government and its people to the Yemeni people, and the Shabwa residents in particular, especially in the field of health and medical aid. Dr. Nasser Ali Al Marzaqi, Director-General of the Public Health and Population Office in the governorate, said the kidney dialysis solutions sent by the UAE would be distributed to the dialysis centres in Ateq, Azzan and Beihan to fulfil the monthly needs of these centres. Al Marzaqi lauded the sustained support provided by the UAE to the health sector, which had contributed towards supporting the public hospitals and medical centres and restoring them.
