Thai Exim International to facilitate Moscow trade

BANGKOK, Feb 17 (TNA) - Thai Exim International Co., Ltd. has opened its first branch in Moscow to provide down payment guarantee service, to find business synergy between Thai and Russian exporters, and hopefully to boost trade between the two countries, Thai Deputy Finance Minister Pruttichai Damrongrat said on Tuesday.

The company was established in cooperation between the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM) and the MF Holding Co., Ltd., Mr. Pruttichai said.

Thai Exim International will help boost trade between the two countries as Thai exporters were formerly reluctant to trade with Russians due to currency and language problems, he said. The new company will provide assistance on trade to both Thai and Russian businesses in every field.

Russia wants to import food, agricultural products, frozen fruits, electrical appliances and rubber from Thailand, while Thailand imports iron, fuel, chemical products and minerals from Russia.

Thai Exim International plans to open branches in Vietnam, Laos and India in future, Mr. Pruttichai said. (TNA)
