Foreign Minister returns home

SANA'A, Feb. 16 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi returned home on Monday after Chairing the Yemeni side in the Yemeni-Djiboutian Ministerial Joint Committee meetings concluded Sunday in Djibouti.

Speaking to Saba, al-Qirbi said that the two sides have signed a number of executive
programs for agreements and understanding memos signed previously in fields of
heath, youth, education and high education.
During the visit, al-Qirbi handed over to the Djibouti President Esmail Omar Guelleh
a letter from President Ali Abdullah Saleh over the distinctive relations between
the two countries as well as the latest regional and international developments,
particularly the efforts of the new Somali President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed bring
peace, stability and security to Somalia.
Al-Qirbi held talks with the Djibouti President Guelleh on several issues pertaining
to reinforcing security in the region to combat piracy and secure navigation routes
in the Red Sea and African Horn.
On the sidelines of the meetings, al-Qirbi has meet with Somali President Sharif and
conveyed to him the President Ali Abdullah Saleh's congratulations on electing him
as a new Somali president, confirming the Yemeni supporting attitude for his efforts
aiming realizing the Somali reconciliation.
