VN-Index continues downward trend
Hanoi (VNA) - The VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange saw a decline for the fifth consecutive session on Feb. 16, losing another 2.2 points or 0.8 percent to close at 272.31.
The southern market saw a total of more than 5,5 millions shares and fund
certificates traded on a turnover of 100 billion VND, equal to the previous
trading session.
Of the total 172 shares and 4 fund certificates listed on the Stock Exchange,
there were 89 losers, 50 gainers and 37 unchanged. Some codes hit the ceiling,
including BAS of the BASA Joint Stock Company, TNA of the Thien Nam Import-Export
Company, and TCM of the Thanh Cong Textile and Garment Company.
The HASTC-Index on the Hanoi market slid 0.91 points or 1 percent to close at
90.03. Trading volume was at more than 2.73 million shares, worth 51.5 billion
