President Receives Bahraini Foreign Minister

BAGHDAD, Iraq (NINA) - President Fuad Masum renewed Iraq's desire to develop relations of cooperation with Bahrain and the rest of the Gulf states and the world based on common interests to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the region for stability, progress and prosperity. According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, "Fuad Masum received today the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and his accompanying delegation, which conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa to the President of the Republic. Masum welcomed the visit, which comes as part of a series of visits by Arab officials to Iraq, stressing the depth of relations and brotherly ties between Iraq and Bahrain and the need to adopt constructive joint action to cement them in various political, economic, trade and tourism. For his part, the Foreign Minister of Bahrain congratulated the liberation of the city of Mosul from Daesh, praising the will and determination of the Iraqis and their sacrifices to fight Daesh organization on behalf of the world. The Bahraini minister also expressed his country's aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries through the joint committee, pointing out that this visit will open new horizons for communication and joint action, wishing Iraq all stability, harmony and progress./ End
