Kyrgyzstan receives two planes from Russia

BISHKEK, Aug. 10, 2017. /Kabar/. The ceremony of reception and transfer of two AN-26 airplanes took place today on the territory of the air transport squadron of the military unit 23565 of the Air Defense Force of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Rayimberdi Duishenbiev, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Central Military District and the airbase in Kant led by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin. Aviation equipment was transferred to the Kyrgyz side in the framework of gratuitous assistance on the basis of agreements between the heads of the two states. In addition to the delivered equipment, within the framework of bilateral military cooperation, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation provided with spare parts, units, consumables, training and auxiliary equipment, as well as theoretical, flight training and practical training for servicemen of the Air Defense Force of the Kyrgyz Republic. In his speech Duishenbiev said that the delivery of this aircraft was made possible due to the high level of existing military relations between the countries. An-26 military transport aircraft will enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic in dealing with the tasks related to the transport of cargo and personnel, the landing of special-purpose units during training and special operations, air reconnaissance and bombing. In conclusion, the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, thanked the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the rendered assistance in equipping the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan with modern weapons and military equipment. "We will continue to increase the dynamics of multi-vector cooperation to ensure the stability and security of our states," he said.
