Pak response to Indian dossier triumph of Indian diplomacy:
New Delhi, Feb 13 (PTI) Mixing triumphalism with
caution, Congress Friday described Pakistan's response to
India's dossier on evidence on Mumbai terror attacks as a
victory of New Delhi's diplomatic offensive but said it was
not the end of the road in the fight against terror but only a
start.
"In the last 60 years, this has been a unique
victory of Indian diplomacy. It is a triumph of our diplomatic
stand... It is recognition of the incontrovertible nature of
the evidence furnished by us... But this is not the end of the
road (in fight against terror) but only the beginning," party
spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters here.
Singhvi said that for the first time there has been an
admission by Pakistan of harbouring terrorists and that the
terror strike was from Pakistani soil. "In that sense, it is
quite historic and remarkable," he said.
The admission by Pakistan was a "victory of the
combined global solidarity which India has been able to
generate. This also shows the unity of purpose of Congress-led
UPA government and the unity of purpose of Indian nation", he
added.
"It (Pakistan response) deserves a nod and a smile but
certainly not a loud applause or standing ovation..." Singhvi
said, adding purging Pakistan of rogue elements would help not
only Pakistan but India also.
The Congress leader said India would judge Pakistan in
the fight against terror only by the results and not any other
yardstick. PTI AMI
