NDI regional director due in Yemen next week

SANA'A, Feb. 12 (Saba) – Within great efforts of the institute to
help make the April 27 parliamentary elections a success, regional
director of the National Democratic Institute for International
Affairs (NDI) Les Campell is to pay a visit to Yemen next week.

An informed source has said that Campell will meet a number of party
leaders in the country to talk about preparations for the upcoming
parliamentary elections which would be held in April 27.

The talks will focus on special measures to monitor the
elections and ways to promote the political and democratic process
in the country.

National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDIIA or
NDI) is a US non-profit organization created by way of the National
Endowment for Democracy (NED) to channel grants for furthering
democracy in developing nations.

Under its mission, NDI provides practical assistance to civic and
political leaders advancing democratic values, practices and
institutions.

NDI works with democrats in every region of the world to build
political and civic organizations, safeguard elections, and to
promote citizen participation, openness and accountability in
government."
