Mottaki discusses world oil price with Iraqi minister
Baghdad, Feb 12, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein Shahrestani discussed here Wednesday world oil price and ways to stabilize them in OPEC .
Mottaki, who was talking with the reporters after the meeting did not
reveal the details of the negotiation, but said that the issue of
cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad to achieve a fixed price in the
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was discussed
in details in the meeting.
He also added that Iran?s abilities in energy sector, particularly oil
and gas, has been discussed with the Iraqi minister.
Mottaki said that the Iraqi minister has called for using Iranian
experiences in this fields.
On common oil fields between Iran and Iraq, Mottaki said, "We
discussed about four common oil fields and it was agreed that the
issue will continue to be discussed."
Another issue discussed in the meeting was the Abadan-Basra pipeline
and that in during the next week an Iranian oil delegation will travel
to Iraq.
Iran?s foreign also minister told the reporters about his Wednesday
meetings in Baghdad including meetings with the Iraq president, prime
minister and ministers of foreign affairs, commerce and oil in which
he had discussed regional issues and bilateral ties.
