Dung Quat oil refinery takes delivery of crude oil

Quang Ngai (VNA) - The contractor responsible for the Dung Quat oil refinery,
Technip Consortium, has cracked open the valve of a pipeline to deliver crude oil
to the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), enabling it to commence the first stage of
oil processing.

According to Nguyen Hoai Giang, vice chairman of the refinery's Test Run
Committee, the plant is expected to produce its first batch of distilled oil this
month, which will include diesel and kerosene.

As of Feb. 10, the Dung Quat oil refinery project had completed more than 99
percent of its construction work and 70 percent of the preparations for a trial
run.

Dung Quat oil refinery possesses an annual output capacity of 6.5 million tonnes.
The focus of its operations will be the production of commercial fuels such as
diesel, unleaded petrol, kerosene, jet fuel, as well as polypropylene, liquid
petroleum gas and other commercial gases.

The project is expected to officially commence operations on Feb. 21, four days
ahead of the initial schedule.-Enditem
