Abadi, Saudi Officials Discuss To Strengthening Political Relations And Security Cooperation

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi arrived today to Saudi Arabia in one-day visit on an official invitation.
"Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi started an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today at the head of a high-level government delegation including the ministers of foreign affairs, interior, planning, labor, agriculture and secretary general of the cabinet," Saad al-Hadithi, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, told NINA.
"The visit comes at the official invitation presented to him by the Saudi monarch and after visits to high-ranking Saudi officials, like the foreign minister and Minister of Energy and Investment Saudis to Baghdad."
Al-Hadithi said that the Iraqi delegation will meet Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and senior Saudi officials. The visit will discuss issues of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including strengthening political relations and security cooperation to achieve common security for both brotherly peoples, and also will discuss the development of economic relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and expand the horizons of mutual interests at the levels of investment, industrial and commercial that benefit the economy of both countries, and will also discuss the regional situation and ways to strengthen the efforts of the countries of the region to face the security challenges posed by terrorism and extremist thought and what should be done by these countries of measures to cooperate in cutting supply of intellectual terrorism and propaganda and financing. "
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday for a one-day visit on an official invitation.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office said that Abadi was received by His Highness the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Nayef, where an official reception ceremony was held at King Abdul-Aziz Airport in Riyadh.
It is mentioned that Abadi left Baghdad this morning for Saudi Arabia to start a regional tour that will include Iran and Kuwait. / End
