Yemeni-Saudi al-Qaeda combination media propaganda, minister

SANA'A, Feb. 10 (Saba) - The integration of al-Qaeda in Yemen and
Saudi Arabia is a media gossip because al-Qaeda worldwide is one
network, Interior minister Mutahar Rashad al-Masri said.

Security coordination between the two countries has been improving
with many al-Qaeda plots foiled in Yemen during 2008, al-Masri said
in an interview with the Yemen Satellite Channel.

In raids on al-Qaeda rings many operatives were killed and many
others arrested.

The Interior Ministry confirmed the arrest of 50 wanted terrorist
suspects during the last month bringing the wanted suspects arrested
over the last year and the first month of 2009 to almost 6000.

Later the ministry announced 4000 of the arrests had no links to
al-Qaeda, however, they were wanted on other criminal charges
including killings, burglary and banditry.

After attempted attacks on the US embassy in Sana'a, the security
forces conducted large crackdowns against al-Qaeda suspects
arresting several suspected al-Qaeda networks within months.
