Laos interested in Hai Phong city's IT application experiences

Hai Phong (VNA) - Laos wishes to learn from experiences of applying information
technology in administrative reform in the northern port city of Hai Phong , a
spotlight of Vietnam in the field, a Lao senior government official said.

Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath, who led a Lao government delegation for
a visit to Hai Phong on Feb. 9, said Laos wants to expand cooperation with the
city, particularly in economic development, import and export.

The delegation heard the city's mayor Trinh Quang Su briefing of its socio-economic
situation, potentials and major projects.

The two sides exchanged experiences in various fields, including ground-clearance
compensation, FDI attraction, social security, job generation and solutions to
remove difficulties for small and medium-sized enterprises in the context of the
global economic crisis.

The same day, the delegation visited several enterprises and banks' branches in the
