Velayati meets Ayatollah Sistani, other Najaf sources of jurisprudence

Baghdad, Feb 11, IRNA - Supreme Leader's advisor Ali Akbar Velayati here Tuesday met and conferred with Najaf Alims and sources of jurisprudence, including Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani.

According to IRNA correspondent in Baghdad, Velayati told the local
reporters that the objective of his meetings with political leaders of
Iraq is expansion of bilateral relations.

He said that paying pilgrimages to the holy sites of infallible Imams
(P) in Iraq and meeting the revered sources of jurisprudence in Najaf
were the other objectives of his visit of Iraq.

Velayati praised the Iraqi government for is successful holding of
provincial councils elections.

There are no details on dispatched news on Velayati?s meetings with
Ayatollah Sistani and other sources of jurisprudence.

The former Iranian foreign minister arrived in Baghdad on Saturday.
