BAGHDAD, Iraq (NINA) - Vice President, Iyad Allawi, on Thursday, stressed the need to provide the necessary support to the private sector as the most important pillars of development, calling on Japanese companies to contribute in this area through projects that contribute to the rehabilitation and development of infrastructure.
A statement from the press Office of the Vice President said, "Allawi visited the Japanese Embassy and during his meeting with Ambassador Fumio Iwai he discussed Japan's role in supporting Iraq politically and economically as well as the humanitarian sides," stressing the importance of expanding the horizons of cooperation with Japan and its friendly people in developing the economic and industrial projects. "
Allawi, during the meeting, which was attended by a member of the Foreign Relations Committee MP Hassan Chwayrid stressed the importance of activating the private sector to take its role in contributing to economic and social development, taking advantage of the success achieved by Japan in this aspect, which requires more cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador praised the ideas and visions put forward by Vice President Iyad Allawi during the meeting, stressing his country's readiness to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in all sectors./ End
