New Delhi, Feb 10 (PTI) The health of India's former
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, undergoing treatment in
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for chest
infection, is showing signs of improvement and his
vital parameters are normal, a hospital bulletin said Tuesday.
84-year-old Vajpayee is in "ICU on ventilatory support.
His chest X-ray is better. His ventilatory requirement has
been decreased and vital parameters are normal," the bulletin
said.
Head of Cardiac Thoracic Vascular Sciences Department of
AIIMS Dr Sampath Kumar had earlier said that "he is alright.
He is making progress".
Dr Kumar also said Vajpayee's lungs are improving and

level is better.
Sources at the AIIMS say that Vajpayee is likely to be
taken off the ventilator soon.
Dr Kumar said that all the basic parameters of the former
prime minister like his heart, kidney, liver and blood
pressure were normal.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was admitted to
the hospital on February 3 with complaints of fever and chest
