AZERBAIJAN FM MEETS TURKISH COUNTERPART

Baku, February 9 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met today his Turkish counterpart Ali Babacan one-on-one and in presence of the two countries` delegations.

The meetings discussed a wide range of questions, including bilateral cooperation
and regional and international issues.
Mammadyarov highly appreciated Turkey`s proposal to create Caucasus Stability and
Cooperation Platform, stressing its importance for the region.
The Azeri Minister also praised Turkey`s peaceful efforts in various regions of the
world, especially as UN Security Council member.
Ali Babacan in turn stressed the importance of ensuring peace in the region.
On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Babacan stressed it must
be settled only based on the principle of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
