Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - "The battle for reconstruction is no less important than the fight against terrorism," said President Fuad Masum.
"Thanks to the will of God and the national forces and the support of the friendly countries, Iraq has achieved a total victory over terrorism. We aspire to complete it soon by liberating Mosul and eliminating Daesh in Nineveh," he told Davos conference on Middle East and North Africa issues in the Dead Sea, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
He added, "We hope to turn terrorism black page this year and the Iraqis have to work hard to win the battle of construction and reconstruction, which is no less difficult than the battle of terrorism and the priority to return of the displaced and the reconstruction of liberated areas."
"Our country now sets comprehensive plans for reconstruction, services and infrastructure with the help of international friends who have provided military and humanitarian support through donor bodies and countries with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to accelerate Iraq's reconstruction and construction projects and community reconciliation plans," he said.
"Iraq is keen on the participation of the world countries in its plans and its constant efforts for sustainable development to improve environmental and health services and with the participation of active women," Masum said.
"The special importance of attending the forum comes to take advantage of what will be presented through the forum strategically in all fields and Iraq is planning to build strategic projects for young people with all employment opportunities and development," noting that "the slogan of the conference / Empowering generations to the future / summarizes by itself the biggest concern for our country today to succeed for the empowerment of young people to make their future as well as to ensure the vitality of the global economy in the field of technology and information.
