US companies invited to invest in Yemen
SANA'A, Feb. 08 (Saba) - At his meeting with the US envoy to Yemen,
Minister of Oil and Minerals Amir Salim al-Aidrous has invited the
US companies to invest in the oil, gas and minerals fields in the
country.
He affirmed that the oil sector is one of the most promising
economic sectors in Yemen, saying only 20 percent of the oil
deposits has been already discovered.
Al-Aidrous and the US ambassador Stephen Seche also discussed
investment opportunities in these fields and means to promote mutual
cooperation.
The meeting also dealt with facilitations provided for foreign
capitals and companies interested in investment in the country.
The issues of cooperation on training at oil exploration areas as
well as qualifying specialists for assistant works in oil posts were
raised at the meeting as well.
The two discussed the activities of the US oil companies in the
country and the possibility of expanding them in the future.
