AFC to assist Yemen to host Gulf 20th



SANA'A, Feb. 08 (Saba) - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will
present technical assistance to succeed the Yemen's host of the Gulf
Cup 20 by the end of 2010.

In a press conference, AFC President Mohammad Bin Hammam asserted
the confederation would train the technical and administrative
cadres and keeping establishing the coming stages of the "Goal
Project" that aims to upgrade the Yemeni Football Association (YFA)
capacities.

For his part, the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) General
Secretary Fadi Zureikat asserted the Federation's support to the YFA
in all championships organized by WAFF. Yemen and United Arab
Emirates have joined to WAFF recently.

Zureikat said that WAFF will support Bin Hammam in the coming Asian
election for the Executive Committee of the Federation International
Football Association (FIFA). The support was also confirmed by the
Yemeni Football Association by his head Ahmed al-Eisa.

Bin Hammam along with al-Eisa and Undersecretary of Sport Ministry
Hussain al-Sharif laid here the foundation stone for the second
phase of the "Goal Project".

The second phase amounting to $2.5 million includes the two-story
hotel complex for the national teams contains 60 rooms, food hall
and health club.
