'Top Cabinet panel to discuss Pak response to Mumbai dossier'
Islamabad, Feb 8 (PTI) A top Cabinet panel chaired by
Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is set to discuss
Pakistan's response to the Mumbai terror dossier Monday, a
news report said Sunday.
Pakistan's Defence Committee of the Cabinet (DCC) is
set to meet tomorrow "to discuss how to proceed in the
matter," the Nation newspaper reported today. The probe report
was to be presented in response to the Indian dossier on the
Mumbai attacks on November 26, it said.
A war of words has erupted between New Delhi and
Islamabad after India blamed Pakistan-based elements for the
terror attacks on the Indian financial capital that killed at
least 180 people last year.
India has said that the steps taken so far by Pakistan
are not adequate. It has also accused the Inter-Services
Intelligence spy agency of having a hand in the attacks.
Pakistan is expected to make public the report of its
probe into the Mumbai attacks early this week. It has,
however, said it will not hand over to India any Pakistani
nationals found to be involved in the attacks and will instead
try them under the country's laws.
Prime Minister Gilani will chair the meeting, which
will be attended by the Chief of Army Staff, Defence Minister
and other top cabinet members, the Pakistani daily said. PTI
