Solana insists on continuing EU-Iran talks
Berlin, Feb 8, IRNA - European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana stressed the need
to continue political talks between the EU and Iran, according to IRNA.
In a meeting with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the
45th Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Solana reaffirmed Iran's
important role in international issues.
Meanwhile, Larijani urged the EU to play a more constructive part in
global affairs.
Referring to Iran's close and constructive cooperation with the
Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency, Larijani vowed to
proceed the cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog agency.
Pointing to the latest developments in the world, the Iranian official
warned the West against sticking to old positions on the nuclear issue.
Larijani reiterated his criticism of the EU's decision to remove the
MKO from the terror list, calling it a double-standard and unacceptable.
The Majlis Speaker addressed the opening session of the Munich
security confab on Friday.
