Larijani, Baradei reaffirm need for continuing Iran-IAEA cooperation

Berlin, Feb 7, IRNA- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammad ElBaradei reiterated the need to continue the cooperation between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog aimed at resolving the Iranian nuclear file, IRNA said.

Meeting with ElBaradei on the sidelines of the 45th Munich Security
Conference on Friday, Larijani made clear that bilateral cooperation would
proceed based on earlier agreed modalities.
The Iranian official said talks with the IAEA chief focused on Iran's
constructive cooperation.
He added that based on Tehran's constructive cooperation with the UN
nuclear agency, the IAEA could reaffirm Iran's right to have nuclear
technology.
For his part, ElBaradei emphasized that continued talks with Tehran could
be very useful.
He expressed hope that a political dialogue could ultimately settle
the Iranian nuclear standoff.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has repeatedly stated his
country's continued "serious and sincere cooperation" with the IAEA.
Mottaki has also made clear Tehran would continue its cooperation with
the UN nuclear watchdog within its framework of rules and regulations
"without pressure and interference."
Referring to the release of the latest IAEA reports, Mottaki said it
confirmed that the UN agency's findings corresponded with the answers
and statements given by the Iranian side.
He also added that the IAEA report acknowledged that there was no
evidence which would show that Tehran's peaceful nuclear activities
had been diverted for other purposes.
Pointing to the "successful cooperation" between Iran and the IAEA, Mottaki
has repeatedly said all remaining questions had been answered based on
the agreed modalities.
The minister has warned against attempts of certain countries of
politicizing the
Iranian nuclear dossier.
