AZERBAIJANI DOCUMENTARY TO BE PRESENTED TO 59TH INTERNATIONAL BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL
Baku. 6 February (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani documentary “Rhythms of Laghij” by young
moviemaker Fariz Ahmadov will be presented to the 59th International Film Festival
started in Berlin on 5 February. The Festival to run ten days will feature more than
300 films from 60 countries.
The inauguration was attended by world stars Kate Winslet, Demi Moore, Michelle
Pfeiffer and other guests. The 59th Berlin International Film Festival opened with
the world premiere of the star-studded action thriller “The International” by Tom
Tykwer. The record 250 thousand tickets have been sold for the Festival. One of
this year’s central celebrations is the 20th anniversary of the peaceful revolution
and the fall of the Wall in 1989. To mark this occasion, the 59th Berlin
International Film Festival is presenting the special series “After Winter Comes
Spring – Films Presaging the Fall of the Wall”.
