MALAYSIA FINDS WAYS TO TAKE ISRAEL TO COURT
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- The Foreign Ministry will find ways to
bring Israel to justice following the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime
against the Palestinians in Gaza, said its minister, Dr Rais Yatim.
As such, he said, Malaysia would draw up a petition to seek support from the
other countries to allow Israel to be brought to the International Court for the
excessive attacks on Gaza which had killed many people.
"Among the proof that can be furnished is the use of white phosphorous by
Israeli troops during the attacks on Gaza which resulted in many deaths. Israel
must be responsible for the crime against humanity in Palestine," he told
reporters after receiving contributions for the Humanitarian Fund for
Palestinians from the Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage at the
Sultan Abdul Samad Building Gallery , here Thursday.
Earlier, he received a cheque for RM232,905.66 (US$64,370.53) from the
Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal which
would be channelled to the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians.
Rais said so far, contributions to the fund had reached RM14.7 million
(US$4.06 million) and the ministry would meet very soon to implement several
projects to assist the victims in Gaza.
