Iran delivers aid for Gaza people to Lebanon

Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA - Iran delivered its humanitarian aid for the war-hit people in the Gaza
Strip to Lebanon as the Zionist regime's navy and the Egyptian
government intercepted the Iranian ship carrying emergency aid for
Gazans.

Navy forces of the Zioinist regime stopped the Iranian ship ? Shahed -
20 miles off the coast of Gaza on January 14. The ship contained more
than 2,000 tons of foodstuffs and medicines sent to the people of Gaza
who were savagely attacked by the Zioinist troops for 22 days.

?We anchored in Gaza's coastal waters for 20 days trying to deliver
the aid to the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza by any means possible,?
Head of Iran's Red Crescent Society team dispatched to Gaza Ahmad
Navab said on Thursday upon his arrival at the Imam Khomeini
International Airport.

?We then tried to send the aid to Gaza via the Rafah crossing at Egypt
border to Gaza but the Egyptian government did not cooperate with us,"
Navab added.

He said that the Iranian team finally decided to ask Lebanon's Red
Crescent Society to deliver the cargo to the Palestinians.

The official said that the 20-member Irnaian team was in good health
condition at the end of their 33-day mission despite all difficulties
and dangers that threatened them during the mission.

?Although the aid was not delivered to Gazans directly, the message of
peace and friendship sent by Iranian nation's move had great impacts
on the media of Arab and Western countries,? Navab added.
